Safer Internet Day 2013

On the 5th of February there is The First Cryptoparty in Minsk in coworking “Pritjazhenie” with the motto “Crypt!”

The event is connected with The Safer Internet Day (saferinternetday.org). This day is celebrated around the world in February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially among young people.

First of all safer Internet is the privacy of information from the network. When you send a message, a letter or a file to your friends, you should think about their privacy. The best way to achieve this goal is to crypt your data!

Cryptoparty is the event, where experienced users help beginners to install crypt programs for messages, files, drivers on their notebooks, laptops and mobiles. The main idea is to create trust network and have fun.

Children not for Abuse SID activities in Belarus

 Children not for Abuse have been celebrating Safer Interent Day in Belarus since 2009.

 
This year they will run a video and flash films competition on internet safety in schools in both Minsk and the Minsky region. The details will be announced on 7 February 2012.
 
Various other activities will also be organised in the Minsk and Minsky region schools including:
  • A round table for teenagers
  • Training for teenagers
  • A debate among teenagers
  • A drawing competition among children on Cyberspace safety
  • Event for paretns in a school in Dserzinsk, in the Minsky region.
SID activities are organised primarily by the NGO Children not for Abuse, with assistance from a website for children (mir.pravo.by) and representatives of various government institutions.
