About our SID activities

INHOPE member hotlines will be expanding their efforts online for Safer Internet Day (SID) 2022, as we focus on how the topic of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is reported in the media.

We encourage our network to continue to raise awareness, breaking down the taboo of the topic and representing the voice of digital safety during the European Year of Youth.

What we are doing to support the SID 2022 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…

INHOPE will be running a media policy campaign and promoting a guide that is intended for media outlets and control standards to ensure that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) stories follow best practices set by child protection organisations.

INHOPE is running a Focus Group on 'Grooming and proactive victim protection'. This event will focus on examining how grooming takes place on platforms, exploring trends, and discussing ways to improve reporting.

INHOPE provides its network with a secure IT infrastructure "ICCAM" (hosted by INTERPOL) that facilitates the fast exchange of CSAM reports between hotlines and law enforcement to ensure the swift removal of this content from the internet.

About us

INHOPE is the leading global network combatting online child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The network consists of 46 hotlines in 42 countries (as of December 2020) that provide the public with a way to anonymously report illegal content online with a focus on CSAM.

INHOPE is based in the Netherlands and our member hotlines operate across six continents: Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North and South America.

In a borderless digital world, CSAM has global consequences and as its distribution grows so do our efforts. This is only possible with the support and funding by the European Commission under the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) programme implemented as part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Programme.
