About our SID activities
INHOPE member hotlines will be expanding their efforts online for Safer Internet Day 2021, as we deal with the restrictions and changes created by COVID-19.
We encourage our network to take this opportunity to create new innovative ways to continue the conversation of safety online and build upon their existing communities.
What we are doing to support the SID 2021 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…
INHOPE raises awareness of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online, educating the public on what and where to report this content.
INHOPE advocates for legislative and policy changes to support our vision of an internet free from CSAM.
INHOPE provides its network with a secure IT infrastructure "ICCAM" (hosted by INTERPOL) that facilitates the fast exchange of CSAM reports between Hotlines and law enforcement to ensure the swift removal of this content from the internet.
INHOPE is the leading global network combatting online child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The network consists of 47 hotlines in 43 countries (as of December 2020) that provide the public with a way to anonymously report illegal content online with a focus on CSAM.
INHOPE is based in the Netherlands and our member hotlines operate across six continents: Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North and South America.
In a borderless digital world CSAM has global consequences and as its distribution grows so do our efforts. This is only possible with the support and funding by the European Commission under the Better Internet for Kids programme implemented as part of the Connecting Europe Facility Programme.
