About our SID activities

Safer Internet Day (SID) 2023 in Denmark, taking place on Tuesday 7 February, will focus on algorithms and their consequences for young people's well-being and communities. The Media Council for Children and Young People and the Centre for Digital Youth Care will celebrate the day by inviting a group of young people to a seminar in Copenhagen about how algorithms are increasingly shaping the way we see the world. This will be the first in a series of three seminars on the consequences of algorithms for young people's well-being and communities. During 2023, The Media Council for Children and Young People and the Centre for Digital Youth Care will travel to other regions of Denmark with the seminar to involve young people from several parts of the country.

Based on the seminars, the Media Council for Children and Young People and the Centre for Digital Youth Care will communicate experiences and statements from the young participants about their perspectives on the consequences of algorithms for everyday life, well-being and communities. Activities and resources created for the seminar workshops will be published for free use afterwards.

Alongside the seminars, the Centre for Digital Youth Care will carry out online sessions with a Digital Youth Panel about the consequences of algorithms for young people's lives. The Digital Youth Panel is a varying group of young people who participate anonymously in the discussions and thus get involved in the work with the topic.

What we are doing to support the SID 2023 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…

We are involving youth in discussions about the consequences of algorithms on young people's well-being and communities.

What we are doing to mark the 20th anniversary of Safer Internet Day"…

In celebration of the twentieth edition of Safer Internet Day (SID), we will take a trip down memory lane and point out some of the resources we have developed for the Danish Safer Internet Days since 2004. These resources will be presented in articles on our websites and social media.
