About our SID activities

In conjunction with the event, we launched a board game-creating competition for children in December 2023. The winners of these competitions, parents, and teachers will be invited to the SID Day.

On Safer Internet Day, the competition winners will participate in a multi-round interactive game led by IT professionals as mentors. The game is divided into two blocks: first, children can get answers to questions about the dangers of connecting to open WiFi networks, and then the dangers of flash drives and charging through public USB ports.

For parents and teachers accompanying children, there will be presentations on smart internet use by experts. For example, a youth and generation expert will discuss online child sexual abuse and parental responsibility, and the head of the National Media and Communications Authority, Hungary, will give a presentation entitled 'Current issues of child protection in media regulation'.

At the end of the event, we will announce the results of the competitions and award the winners with prizes, which will be LEGO and board games this year.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

The Hungarian Safer Internet Center (HUN SIC) is planning a one-day event to raise awareness among professionals, decision-makers, educators, the press, and children.

About us

The International Children's Safety Service is one of the most important non-government welfare organisations in Hungary, established in 1990. It hosts several projects in order to provide financial, social and health-related support to children in need. Apart from supporting foster-parents, healthcare and coding programmes, it also acts as coordinator of the Hungarian Safer Internet Consortium in order to turn the public attention to safer and more conscious internet use.
