The Personal, Social and Career Development (PSCD) department within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes in Malta is once again collaborating with the Commissioner for Children, Aġenzija Appoġġ, and the cybercrime unit within the BeSmartOnline! project (part of the Maltese Safer Internet Centre) for the Safer Internet Day celebrations.

In 2022, Safer Internet Day was celebrated on Tuesday, 8 February, with the aim of promoting a safer and better internet for all users, where everyone is empowered to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

The PSCD teachers in Malta were encouraged to make students aware of this day and carry out specific lesson plans and tailored clips prepared for middle and secondary students during Safer Internet Day or during that week. The lessons prepared are part of the PSCD learning outcomes syllabus and complement the work already done in classrooms and in the workbooks. The toolkit created by the BeSmartOnline! team includes lesson plans, video clips and other resources that can be accessed through this link.
