About our SID activities
Avast will be taking to the airwaves to discuss the growing rise of stalkerware. Avast has found that there has been an increase in the use of spy- and stalkerware since the COVID lockdown measures came into force. Stalkerware is unethical software that allows people to track someone's location, access their personal photos and videos, intercept emails, texts and app communications such as WhatsApp and Facebook, as well as eavesdrop on phone calls and make covert recordings of conversations over the internet, without the target's knowledge or consent.
This Safer Internet Day (SID), Avast will be drawing attention to this rise in malicious stalkerware, and sharing advice on how to spot and remove.
What we are doing to support the SID 2021 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…
