British Council Safer Internet Day Supporter
About our SID activities
We work closely with the Child Protection team throughout the year to coordinate events to celebrate SID across the British Council. This year we will be sharing the materials from LearnEnglish Kids, LearnEnglish Teens and LearnEnglish with our global teacher network to ensure the online safety messages reach as many people as possible. Our TeachingEnglish website is also participating by providing lesson plans for English teachers covering the topic of online safety. Our social media channels will share online safety materials and information for teachers, parents and learners of English, and we'll host two Facebook live events during the day to raise awareness of the event to our global audience of teachers and parents.
What we are doing to support the SID 2019 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…
Safer Internet Day brings together colleagues and teams throughout the British Council who work closely with our Child Protection team. We work together to try and raise awareness about online safety issues through a series of campaigns. We use our global reach to share information and learning materials with learners of English, teachers and parents.
LearnEnglish Teens is the British Council's website for teenage learners of English. We provide free self-access online learning materials aimed at 13-17 year olds who are learning English.
