About our SID activities

The Digital Transformation Centres (DTC) Initiative was launched in September 2019 by ITU in partnership with Cisco. Its objective is to support countries in strengthening citizens' digital capacities, particularly in underserved communities. The selected DTCs become part of a global network of institutions to accelerate the uptake of digital technologies among citizens and boost the capacity of young entrepreneurs and SMEs to succeed in the digital economy.
To have the DTC community participate in this global effort, CISCO and ITU have prepared a campaign in which the DTCs can participate to increase awareness and skills relating to cybersecurity and empower everyone to be safe online.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

Our mission is to empower all people with career possibilities through the power of technology and education for an inclusive future for all. More specifically, our course “Introduction to Cybersecurity” seeks to increase awareness and skills to make the internet safer.

We partner with 11,700 education institutions (including high schools, vocational colleges, universities, and nonprofits) and 29,700 instructors to offer curricula in 27 languages. Since 1997, we have trained 20,5 million learners, with 95 per cent of students saying that Cisco Networking Academy helped them obtain a job or educational opportunity.

Our inclusive workforce development programme equips educators with a leading curriculum (licensed free to educational and nonprofit institutions), Webex for Educators, Cisco Packet Tracer, professional development and resources and learners with industry-recognised skills and certifications.

About us

Cisco Networking Academy continues to be one of the longest-standing IT skills-to-jobs programmes in the world. We're particularly proud of our social impact, especially for underserved and underrepresented people in our communities.
