About our SID activities

At European Schoolnet, we believe that digital and media literacies enable children and young people to become critical thinkers, to actively analyse, evaluate and create media messages, and to act responsibly in an online environment.

Since 2006, European Schoolnet has been a key player in the responsible use of the internet and mobile technologies, with a particular focus on eSafety in schools, while also coordinating the Insafe network of Safer Internet Centres under a series of Safer Internet Programmes.

What we are doing to create a better internet…

European Schoolnet is coordinating a number of projects and activities promoting online safety and digital literacy such as the Better Internet For Kids, Safer Internet Day, eSafety Label and much more. Alongside these digital citizenship projects and activities, European Schoolnet runs a Digital Citizenship Working Group with its Ministries of Education, to steer its digital citizenship roadmap, provide a platform for exchange between network members, identify gaps, and explore new areas of work.

About us

European Schoolnet is the network of Ministries of Education from more than 30 European countires, based in Brussels. As a not-for-profit organisation, we aim to bring innovation in teaching and learning to our key stakeholders: Ministries of Education, schools, teachers, researchers, and industry partners.
