About our SID activities
More than 180 countries around the world celebrate Safer Internet Day; this is an important moment to promote the responsible use of online services.
At Facebook, your safety is at the heart of everything we do. We work hard to make sure Facebook provides a safe environment for everyone, through our policies, tools, resources and partnerships. That's why we're taking this opportunity to remind you of some of the tools we provide to keep you safe.
If you see something on Facebook that's inappropriate or makes you uncomfortable, let us know by clicking the 'report' button. We have teams working around the clock in 50+ languages, ready to respond as quickly as possible.
If one of your friends posts something about you that's annoying or embarrassing, we offer a tool to help you resolve it with them. You can send your friend a message letting them know you prefer not to see this content on Facebook. More than 8 million people use this tool every week to solve disagreements.
To learn more about Facebook's safety tools and controls, visit our Help Centre. You can also check out our Safety Centre for more resources and handy tips, or visit our Parents Portal if you have questions about Facebook and your child.
What we are doing to support the SID 2023 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…
To mark Safer Internet Day this year, Meta will be reminding teens of the tools available to help keep them safe on our platforms with an animation for social channels, sharing conversation starters and other resources available for parents and guardians on the Family Centre and announcing the launch of the EU Youth Design Jam, our first pan-European co-design jam with young people aged 16 - 18.
