About our SID activities

The NKS and DigiQ have asked children in Slovakia: How do you perceive safer Internet? What needs to be done in order to make the Internet a better place for children? We reached for children in all Slovak regions with help of regional coordinators of protection of children against violence (UPSVR). Children may answer our questions in any artistic way they find suitable for them: music, visual arts, role play etc. With their help, we will be better informed about their real needs and better prepared for future policy-making processes.

Also, together with the partners, we are organizing the conference Child Safety in Digital Environment, dedicated to scientists and experts in the field.

What we are doing to support the SID 2023 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…

The NKS and DigiQ provide prevention activities for children, people coming into contact with children in professional way, and parents and families. We go to schools, organize webinars, educational activities. The NKS is a policy-maker in the field of protection of children against violence, including digital environment. In this position, it is carries out networking with other public authorities, NGOs, and research institutions at the national level. These activities are supported by regional coordinators, carrying out the same activities at their levels. The Catholic University focuses its research also on the issues of children´s presence in online world.

What we are doing to mark the 20th anniversary of Safer Internet Day…

This is our first year with SID; we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of SID with entering the event!
