The Finnish Hotline Nettivihje’s Annual report 2024 is published
The Finnish hotline Nettivihje aims to to speed up the removal of material that it assesses as illegal, and to help ensure that the child receives the help they need. Anyone can send a report to the hotline using its online form. Reporting is safe and easy. The trained analysts check every report. Information of activity or material that is assessed as illegal is forwarded to the needed actors, such as the Finnish National Bureau for Investigation.
In the spotlight: Safer Internet Centres Norway and Sweden
NorwayThe Norwegian SIC is coordinated by the Norwegian Media Authority, who also runs the awareness centre. The Norwegian Red Cross operates the helpline service Kors på halsen (Cross My Heart) and also facilitates the youth panel activities of the SIC.
IPDJ brings digital citizenship and safer internet to Portugal’s two largest education and youth fairs: Qualifica and Futurália
This year, Futurália’s theme was “AI in education”, while Qualifica focused on “Lifelong Learning”.At the IPDJ booth, various programmes and initiatives were promoted to address the specific needs of young people, covering a wide range of interests, including non-formal education, training, youth health, and international mobility. What is the series about?The British drama series is about a 13-year-old boy who is accused of stabbing a fellow pupil. The unassuming 13-year-old comes from an intact family, is a good student and still seems very childlike overall. For the viewers, it is initially inconceivable that this child is capable of murder. The question of why is at the centre of the fictional series.
