About our SID activities
For Safer Internet Day (SID) 2023, the Icelandic Safer Internet Centre (SIC) is planning multiple activities as follows:
- New educational models and corresponding educational videos on social media; social media and age categories; news and fake news; hate speech and harassment; porn; and social media and well-being will be promoted. The educational material and teachers guidelines will be sent to all schools in Iceland and they encouraged to participate in SID.
- SID will mark the onset of a media literacy week that will be followed by a conference on media literacy, both onsite and online.
- On SID we will send a poster to all schools in Iceland, promoting the Hotline/Helpline to students.
What we are doing to support the SID 2023 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…
The Icelandic Safer Internet Centre is increasingly involving all target groups in developing policy, campaign material, and educational resources that are highly relevant to the SID slogan.
What we are doing to mark the 20th anniversary of Safer Internet Day…
We will celebrate our success over the last 20 years but our main focus will be on the broad concept of media literacy.
