About our SID activities
For SID 2020, on Tuesday, 11 February we are participating in an event at the Digital Literacy Centre in Malta where the main activities include internet safety sessions, scavenger hunts and sport activities. Furthermore, on Saturday, 15 February we are setting up a stand in the capital city to disseminate educational resources, showcase the SID video and organise a number of activities for children. Finally, we have also created a toolkit to help educators to deliver practical and impactful activities for Safer Internet Day.
What we are doing to support the SID 2020 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…
Multiple organisations across Malta deliver activities for Safer Internet Day each year, from tech companies, telecom companies and banks, to schools, police services and NGOs across Malta and Gozo.
The BeSmartOnline! project concerts the efforts of national stakeholders working towards the safer use of the internet by children and youths. The initiative aims at raising awareness and educating minors, carers and educators on the safe use of the internet; establishing, operating and promoting reporting facilities for internet abuse; and supporting respective victims.
