About our SID activities

Safer Internet Day 2024 will focus on gaming and parents. The Media Council for Children and Young People and the Centre for Digital Youth Care will celebrate the day by relaunching an updated version of the popular guide for parents 'Children are gamers!'. The guide has been updated to include new and relevant information on children and young people's use of digital games. It covers such themes as user retention, in-game purchases, time spent on gaming, and more.

Furthermore, The Media Council for Children and Young People and the Centre for Digital Youth Care will publish a series of interviews with children, where they talk about gaming with their parents and explain different gaming-phenomenon in their own words.

What we are doing to create a better internet:

We are creating a campaign where children get to explain gaming from their perspective and we will promote a guide with important information on relevant gaming topics. Both initiatives, will hopefully inspire and help parents to engage in their children's use of digital games, so that the children will have safer experiences and be able to have a dialogue with their parents.
