Sri Lanka Safer Internet Day Committee - ISOC Sri Lanka

Last updated: 2023-02-07

About our SID activities

In this year 2023, Sri Lanka will organize Safer Internet day activities even though the country is in a financial crisis. This year our team will conduct various safer internet day activities in Hybrid mode covering major provinces. We target School children above Grade 6 and students from technical colleagues. Increased use of mobile devices opened the door to the internet without any restrictions. This puts novice surfers at risk as they do not know about safe browsing habits and leave trails of where they go on the internet (Digital Footprint). We have planned to conduct sessions based on Digital Footprint, Online Safety, Child phonography, Fake accounts, and how to avoid internet scams.

What we are doing to support the SID 2023 slogan of "Together for a better internet"…

Our mission is to ensure the Internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all. An Internet that truly puts people first, where individuals can shape their own experience and are empowered, safe and independent.

What we are doing to mark the 20th anniversary of Safer Internet Day…

To create a better and more secure Internet Ecosystem that will benefit all stakeholders using the Internet
